[Discussion] Do you think soldiers should be paid more?

I read somewhere that soldiers get paid 18,000 year (roughly)
while a footballer gets paid 25,000 + weekly

I find it unfair, how soldiers who risk their lives to save other lives get less paid, while I think soldiers should be the most paid job.

Well this is my opinion. What do you think?

but i agree if i was president of the US i would pay our soldiers not 18,000 a year but

30,000 a year
with the same benefits i mean come on they can die why not give them the good life before their time. i find it selfish that we donate more and more to big fat cats a corparte hell i corprate bass lowered his employee wages to 20 an hour while he got a 3 million dollar pay increase how curropt is that bullshit

I think that's the low level grunts though, typically really young people. They also have food and housing taken care of... as long as they still get the GI bill I'm happy.

hell yeah.. not just soldiers either dude, im thinking doctors, firemen, nurses, policemen. people who actually do something. footballers get paid waaaaaaaaaay to much, they hurt their ankle and its the end of the world for them where aas the people ive stated faace blood aand death.

No, soldiers get a ton of free shit, they technically don't need to pay for anthing and they volunteer.

IMO, 18k is a good amount when you don't have to pay for anything...

Also I'm not too sure since I am not a soldier but I think only the fodder get paid 18k...

I also think that soldiers are often not paid enough. However if they were the most paying job, or a very high paying job, than you would start to get the sort of people who are doing it for the money, and there are a lot of issues with that.

Its the same with doctors, some people think they should be paid more for saving lives, but the more they get paid, the more people you have becoming doctors for the wrong reasons.

They get paid equally no matter what the job is. It just depends on the rank and then there is special pay if you fly or are airborne.

You have medical covered and if you paid for it in the beginning then you have the GI bill also.

Technically you have housing too, but depending on your rank you pretty much live in a dorm.

It should be noted that those in the military still pay taxes unless they're deployed.

yes i do they make you take a test and no they all dont get paid the same depends on many things

Soldiers are giving their lifes away simply because of the command of another.

I have nothing against soldiers, and yes, there might be a some who have on their own accords saved a life with their own, but the whole gist of being a soldier is to follow orders handed down from the High ups...Kinda like a gang really...
