Shinra Tensei's gravitational power is powerful enough to rip large chunks of earth from the ground to make the moon which is way bigger then Hashirama's technique.This would come down to a matter of hwo much chakra one puts into it.Nagato in his prime with full chakra could of taken it on.

You forget that he was not in his prime and fought through his avatars and by that point he already expended quite a bit of chakra by fighting naruto,kakashi and controlling the other avatars as they fought and destroyed the village.
And we know even still up to that point he didn't use all his chakra to capture the kyuubi because he went on to revive every single person in that village.

It depends on the chakra consumption bud.Let me explain to you,hashi's technique uses natural energy while nagato's uses only his chakra.If someone uses shinra tensei while i sage mode it will be stronger than hashi's technique.Its as simple as that.

but looking at Hashirama wood jutsu(1000 hands) its MASSIVE and huge in width and height................ it would take Nagato a lot of chackra to demolished that.........maybe after using shinra tensei, he would be out for 20 minutes total..... instead of 5-10 minutes when he fought against Naruto
