Amaterasu burns anything it connects with...so obviously if it connected with gaara's sand then it means gaara's sand took the hit......blocking it doesn't mean that gaara's sand could escape the flames after being hit.....in fact amaterasu is the only jutsu that could create an opening in Jiraiya's toad entrapment summoning.....no other jutsu has been known to do that...amaterasu is not a destructive but a deadly jutsu.....it can be dodged if the target is fast enough...but once it connects there is no escape from death unless the target uses shinra tensei....

Well the largest problem is burn rate. Amaterasu doesn't burn that fast (as seen when Sasuke could escape it). Flames even condensed in one place is still just a pile of burning mass, and wouldn't carry any significant mass (as fire burns oxygen in the air releasing mass from the point of the flames)

Now obviously this is a manga so Maybee creating dense pressure of flames is possible....if so then Maybee he can create enough inertia to stop the TBB, but it will explode in a mass of black flames before being completely burned away (IF it is burned away).

Naruto's speed is greater than Amaterasu's speed so he is entirely capable of dodging it (though probably not in BM...During which he'd probably revert to KM and dispel or cut off the burning chakra). KM Naruto and even BM Naruto (as a tailed beast afterall) probably have the raw strength to move earth or forest in order to counter Amaterasu by making it burn something other than where it was intended to burn, and thus cancelling out amaterasu's encirclement.


Interesting theory! It's probably a 50/50 though as so far it seems to have to stay in the palm of the hand after which Amaterasu disks are fired. Too soon to tell though.

The Raikage got hit and he only lost a hand, in fact he kept fighting while his hand was on fire.

Okay, Sasuke can shoot Amaterasu almost instant out of his left eye. He can manipulate the black flames with his right eye. If you see the last panel of that page you can see there is a orb of black flames above his head. He uses that to manipulate and fire enton. Is it clear now?
