Its debatable if hes really a good guy now but it's clear hes still scheming and experimenting.

Also in that gaara novel it talks about oros experiments in giving yur sharingan to people

Oro has fallen from his former glory to become a semi nobody. It's kind of sad really, he had potential to be the best villian in the series.

If the Sharingan helps him further his goals then he's still after it, if not then no. He sort of cloned and produced a lesser version of it, perhaps with his new vessels it gets amped.

At first Oro looks still like a mad scientist but something changed and i don't think he wants the sharingan anymore.

The thing is us as a reader know to much to truely know orochimarus current motives. Sharingan can still be on the top of his priorities, who knows what he is doing with Saradas stem cells

No I think hes realized that there are better things than the sharingan, hence the creation of Mitsuki whom I am sure is infused with Otsutsuki cells (specifically Toneris) as well as Jugos cells to allow him to use a greater form of sage mode
