He cared, the main goal behind becoming Hokage was for everyone to acknowledge the kid they treated like crap. Seeing the whole village participate and dress for an event just to name him the Hokage was a moment he needed. But overall he doesn't care, still got the rank cloak and mountain face...and the 1st lady.

He probably does hate the job itself bc he's naruto but he loves having the whole village look up to and rely on him.

Yeah but it was konohamaru who got "crowned" hokage because he was knocked out and late for his ceremony.
