Knowing how Kishi writes its obvious that Madara was way to important to be completely finished off the way he was. He still has a lot of unresolved issues that needs to be resolved. The question isn't if but when and how he comes back and what he will be fighting for then. With Kaguya maybe being sealed there is a chance he could be back soon. This could also get Sasuke more involved again since he is the one that parallels Madara and needs to have a discussion with him like Naruto had with Obito.
