1 thing I never liked about Kushina is how she would yell at her lord Hokage Minato, even though he could easily neg diff. She didn't even take his last name when they married, I think she might have been one of those, "I'm strong and independent." females.

I think Kushina would be very proud to be an Uzumaki, regardless of who she married.
Or I think it might just be a placed in reason for why Naruto has his mother's surname. Obviously, the Third thought if the world knew that Naruto was the 4th's son it would put him in danger. But if Kushina kept her surname, it gives more reason to why Naruto would have her name.

Also, I know this isn't true of Japanese culture, but in Korean culture, the woman keeps her maiden surname when she marries, but her children have their father's surname.
