Do you think Kakashi's mindset is reasonable? Should Naruto do the same?

I know that this was quite a few chapters ago but during the Kakashi vs Obito fight, did you feel that his mindset was reasonable and that you respected it? He thinks of Obito and 'Tobi' as two different people believing the true Obito to be the one that sacrificed himself to save Kakashi and Rin back at Kannabi Bridge which is pretty understandable. He believes that every single second this 'current' Obito is alive, he's tarnishing the memory of the 'past' Obito.

Do you think that Naruto should take on the same attitude? Well not the whole past and current issue since, both Naruto and Sasuke are still quite young, but in the sense that by killing Sasuke, he believes that he would be saving him? Your opinions?

Well, atm I don't think Sasuke is on the evil level of Obito. However, I still think that even if Sasuke was consumed by evil Naruto would still try to reach out to him and bring him out of the darkness. If it came down to it and they really were to fight this would be the result

Im ok with Kakashi believing that the current Obito is evil. But as with Sasuke, Naruto sort of believes he really turned good but he should also know that Sasuke isn't sure of himself. He still wants to defeat/kill Naruto. Though because of Naruto being the main protagonist, he is still determined to bring Sasuke back.

Obviously no debate towards that Kakashi is the only character with a realistic view of the world

Yeah if Sasuke keeps staying on his evil path Naruto should adopt Kakashi's world view

i 100% agree with this ^^.

i never really liked/understood naruto's view of sasuke.

sasuke : "i will kill you, the entire village and everyone who stands in my way. will get there at any cost/everyone is disposable (karin)" becomes an international criminal/strong enough to be a threat.

naruto's response : "it doesn't matter, we are friends". after sasuke proved more than once that he is serious about this.

....... i do't really know how to react to this ........ :(

kakashi understood that his friend went super nuts (gone) and wanted to destroy the world, so his response was logical.

the question is : AT WHAT POINT CAN YOU STOP CALLING SOMEONE A FRIEND ??

sasuke is not the only one who is being selfish here ........

I think Kakashi's view is completely logical and appropriate and I respect him for what he did. That's how a ninja should be.

But I also think that if Naruto were to adopt the same view then that would make the future no different from the past and the whole cycle of hatred will never end (No matter how beyond saving and forgiveness Sasuke may seem right now) and Naruto will never achieve Jirayia's dream of peace. The Hashi\Madara parallel is quite obvious. On the other hand I think Sasuke should also learn to let things go and stop saying things like 'Burn it down', 'Delete the past' etc. Even Madara was more reasonable as he clearly wanted peace at one point and worked towards it. Sasuke on the other hand leaves all the peace to Naruto and goes on living his life like its Ninja GTA.

Naruto would never abopt that philosophy, partially because he is very idealistic. If Kishimoto wanted to show him that his idealism will hurt then he wouldn't have saved Pain with a flipping book. He would have begun deconstructing tnj right there.
Also, Sasuke is less dark than he was. That is indisputable. He shows concern for comrades (smiling at Sakura, showing concern when Sai nearly died). His goals lie in the future, not the past. Naruto himself said Sasuke has grown less dark. He has said he has given up revenge. Yes, he is still a dark character but he his slowly crawling his way to redemption.
So Sasuke shows progress with overcoming his hatred, and Naruto kills him. Kakashi sees Obito would never change, but Sasuke is changing. That's what makes these two situations completely different.

No. Sasuke is not evil because he is Uchiha. He is evil because he decided to seek revenge. Sasuke's father is not evil because he is an Uchiha. He is evil because he thought he deserved more power and planned a coup. Obito is not evil because he is Uchiha. He is evil because he could not get over losing Rin. Madara is not evil because he is an Uchiha. He is evil because he wants revenge on the First and because he wants power. Those two ideas are completely different. Genetics do not make you evil. The mere idea that they would is egregious.
Also, genocide is unethical. A story written for kids will never condone genocide.

Kakashi is one of the few characters with a logical attitude. He would, suffice to say, thrive in the Western World today.
