The first is nice for your first try.
Try looking at some tuts it will help you a lot

You don't need a border at all. Most of the time the border ruins it, don't worry about the border, just practice.

The first and second are pretty good for your first try,unfortunately i have to say the third one is not very good at all
Keep doing what your doing with the 1st one and change things and improve as you go along and you will be a decent gfxer in no time
