It's a well-known fact that Naruto - Kurama=Fodder. Kurama even had to bang Hinata for him because his sperm count was so low, hence why he was shown sleeping in the final chapter. He exhausted all his stamina destroying Naruto's own wife because Naruto wasn't man enough to produce the goods. Why do you think Bolt and Himiwari both have whiskers?

He didn't depend on Kurama before, sure Kurama would give him chakra but he wasn't actually fighting for Naruto, Naruto had to have the skills to use Kurama's power. By the end of the manga I see Naruto's base being about 2 levels above kage level like Madara (3T) and base Hashirama were on. Naruto use of shadow clone plus his high chakra reserves gives him the highest growth potential.

Base Naruto chakra reserves was able to train with 200 clones during his training with Kakashi but it would have increased over the 12 or so years plus he has full Kurama chakra to make an even larger amount of clones. If Naruto use 800 clones to train a day for 7 years then that's like training for 2,044,000 days. Naruto can improve his physical strength, speed, endurance, taijutsus, weapon usage, learn and master new jutsus, chakra control, learn more about sealing jutsus, ect... Naruto is a hands on learner so he has to feel how to do something to do it and using his clones allow him to learn how to do that much faster.

Kurama mode should only be used when there ia a real threat. Its safe to assume that Naruto hasn't used that mode since The Last.

Kurama got awakened during his pain fight but I swear he was fighting toe to toe with the six paths without using Kurama for the most part...I swear he was fighting Kakuzu without Kurama. He went toe to toe with some pretty powerful dudes without Kurama. Those show that he was a decent shinobi without Kurama.

Naruto only befriended kurama in the middle of the war. The only reason we've seen kurama not sleeping is because he was busy helping naruto save the world. Now that the world isn't in need of being saved, he can take naps.
