Hashirama already failed, he had the perfect power to control the Bijus but he just sealed them away and gave them to other villages.

Its an asspull, but not like it means he's regretting aiding Naruto and Sasuke. Hashirama already failed, Naruto hasn't. Hashirama could have ended all this, but blew it multiple times. Hagoromo is probably going to help with the IT. There are some things you just cant account for, Hagoromo wouldnt know everything.

This just shows how dangerous Kaguya is that he has to stick around and attempt to help others.

Actually, it looks more like the only reason Hagoromo was able to appear to Hashirama and the other Edos and from Madara is because they are all dead. Nobody else can see them probably.
