In most combat scenario's Boruto has opted to Lightning Release relatively quickly. Excluding Anime stuff like Boruto Stream too, since it hasn't appeared yet.

Against Shojoji he opted for shuriken jutsu with Lightning Stream

I think he'll be both, but I think Wind being his first type like Sasuke's fire, and then they both moved to focus on Lightning release overall.

I think with Wind he uses it to improve his speed, and Lightning as his main offensive aresnal. Water is used for Aoe.

I guess so since Boruto has an affanity or lightning in the anime and the first element he's ever learn, or was it wind. Anyhow, since Kakashi has taken interest in Boruto as far as we know; there can be a possibility that Boruto will learn purple lightning from Kakashi. But it's true that Boruto will probably be the best lightning user as we know from him using the "Boruto Stream" onwards with infusing his shuriken with lightning and other techniques. So in conclusion Boruto's main element will be lightning, i want to see him go full on electro on some enemies lmao.

He just needs to be able to throw it via sage mode or something since using it like a regular rasengan leads to chakra network damage that byakugou or self healing won't solve unless you have an external power source like Naruto being a jinjuriki
