to become captain one must have high reaitsu or bankai, you know unless Aizen hypnotize everyone to make them think he had a bankai
Good theory. But where is his sword?I'll post my theory that I posted on another similar thread a while back. These are my opinions about Aizen and his bankai and I bet that it's gonna turn out to be true :snick:
Well this is my theory; perhaps it would be something along the lines of altering reality itself? Obviously not as OP as altering the whole of reality but being able to manipulate the reality of what has happened in Aizen's life past and present? So for example he could go back to the time when he was a captain/lieutenant for example and make out that he's still a loyal Shinigami. That's one of my main theories.
Another one of my theories is maybe being able to manifest an illusion to actually make it become real but no just any illusion, only particular illusions. So if an individual believes/wants to believe that the illusion is real with all their heart, Aizen could actually make the illusion become a reality. With the exception of himself.
I've also got a few other minor theories but it's also possible that Aizen didn't bother to try and obtain Bankai. Perhaps he thought Kanzen Saimin was all he needed from his Zanpaktou and then decided to try and achieve hollow powers from the Hogyoku. Maybe he even tricked everyone into thinking that his Bankai was his Shikai but I think that this is highly unlikely, especially as loads of readers will be disappointed.
There is also the possibility that Aizen's Bankai has a price to pay on Aizen himself. So for example while his Bankai might be something crazy like altering reality itself, it may cause Aizen to loose his memory of everything that has happened in his life up to that point in time. Or some other effect, which could be a reason why Aizen never used his Bankai before. Ridiculously powerful but highly inconvenient to use.
I think Aizen never really saw the need to use his Bankai... Furthermore, when he gained the power of the Hogyoku he probably presumed that the power it will grant him would be far beyond that of his Bankai or that he would never need to use it again.
But all in all, I think Aizen does have a bankai but just never saw the need to use it/never wanted to use it. Perhaps he deemed his Shinigami powers too lowly for his standards and thus became dependent on the transcendental powers granted to him by the Hogyoku.
