I've grown listening to ppl talking about how mighty United Sates of America are and how developed they are compared to the rest of the world (Japan, Germany & South Korea not included, of course) and just a few minutes ago i was checking a thread talking about the U.S military funds and how big it is.
I love America though i don't live there, but seriously: does America REALLY need such an enormous amount of money wasted on military R+D? Which country would be crazy enough to attack them? They have the most advanced army in the world, the second one in manpower....then again: why is that amount of money necessary?

When I was younger I thought the same thing. Then I found out, you stop paying for defense and R&D research a lot of jobs will be lost. We're already in an unemployment problem here in the US. You cut the budget on defense spending, the job lose around the nation would be catastrophic.

Does dept by any chance mean debt? If so, Europe is in far less debt than the US. Im not really sure you know anything of economics, im not an expert but i know enough to know europe isnt economic trash. Maybe our debt isnt your fault but the start of the current crisis partly is, there are many many problems inthe economy of both EU and the US
