[Discussion] Do you need to have first awakened the Mangekyo to be able to get EMS?

The title is pretty straightforward. I was just thinking and was wondering about some things:

During the Sasuke vs. Itachi fight, Itachi kept saying he wanted Sasuke's eyes. Obivously he was not serious, but If he had been, would they even give Itachi the EMS? Cuz Sasuke's sharingan did not have MS then.

And also, Sasuke awakened his Mangekyo AFTER Obito told him the truth, right? Cuz, unless I missed something, Itachi didn't know Obito was gonna tell Sasuke the truth, yet when Itachi was talking to Naruto after he had broken edo tensei, he spoke of how he had planned on having Naruto use the crow against Sasuke once he took Itachi's eyes and got EMS. So this means Itachi thought Sasuke was gonna get EMS without being told the truth, which is the same as without awakening MS.

Would Sasuke have gotten EMS if he had popped in Itachi's eyes like right after he killed him?

No, it requires two sets of mangekyou sharingans.

Good question. for the first one, it was in the tsukuyomi when he "attempted" to take sasuke's eyes. Also, I bet itachi foresaw that sasuke would learn the truth or expected him to find another means to awaken the mangekyou sharingan. maybe he figured that just the relief of having kille his brother would awaken the eyes?

Maybe when they awaken there MS for the first time after it was transplanted it goes straight to EMS like how vegeta went straight to ssj 4 and skipped ssj3

I have no clue. Sasuke might just obtain Itachi's Mangekyou Sharingan until he awaken his Mangekyou Sharingan which would later intertwine and awaken the Eternal Mangeykuo Sharingan. In Itachi's case, I think it would be a different process as Sasuke does not have Mangekyou Sharingan. Although, would Itachi reap the benefits of Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan is unknown.

Itachi doesn't want Sasuke eyes cause he knew his going to die (sickness). Itachi want Sasuke took his eye cause he also knew Tobi/Madara/Obito would take & keep his eye after he dead. Sasuke didn't get what Itachi try to told him due to his hart has been consumed by hearted towards Itachi... Sasuke only realized his mistake after Tobi/Madara/Obito had been assault by Itachi Amaterasu keep in Sasuke eye..
