It's an unbalanced team, and was so even at the beginning, with, initially, Sasuke out shining his teammates, and later on, with Naruto and Sasuke doing all the work, and leaving Sakura in a "support" (read: sit there and don't get in the way) role.

Kakashi also failed in his role as sensei to instill cohesion into the unit, with Team 7 being highly dependent on individual performances rather than a strategic assault using all of its assets.

OP: As a Team they area alright, Naruto and Sasuke take too much spotlight imo. Which is their biggest flaw.
I like them as individuals better. Team Ino-Shika-Cho was better.

Team Asuma was the best as a unit.

I like them as a team.

I like teams, dynamics and strategies, playing off of relative strengths and making up for individual weaknesses. In some cases, I actually find the teams to be more impressive than the individuals.

I like them all as a team.
They resemble Tsunade, Jirarya and Orochimaru and Kakashi.
That's why i love them so much.

Tsunade - Sakura
Orochimaru - Sasuke
Jiraya - Naruto
Minato - Kakashi

But yeah, I agree. Team 7 have been parallels of the Sannin since the very beginning, and when they reunited recently they were called the new Sannin.

I can't entirely disagree.

I think that was the point in the beginning, Sasuke was the top of the class and the source of Naruto's jealousy. For Naruto to get what he wanted, he had to work to outshine the brightest bulb. But then this also conflicted with Sasuke, since if he can't beat the class retard then how can he beat Itachi? Which fueled Sasuke's insecurities, which helped cause a split in team dynamics since there were two alpha dogs motivated by self-interest and not the interest of the team.

There were times that they did use teamwork splendidly, that however was between Naruto and Sasuke and Sakura was just sort of a 3rd wheel. I was waiting for Kishimoto to make her useful, which he seemed to start to do almost 300 chapters ago but then forgot about until just recently... and then forgot again.

Is it because of her personality? I don't like her too much as a character, but she is great support that can keep Naruto and Sasuke in the fight, having Katsuya and Strength of a Hundred also greatly increases her utility on the team. Now if only she'd make more use of drugs and such in battle, like how she one-shotted Lee, Kiba, and Sai with a gas bomb she had concocted.
