I understand that there are some very bad cops out there but they dont represent the whole police department. All the bad things that cops do are blasted on the internet but no one talks about the good they do everyday. I have seen people be very critical towards cops no matter what the situation, the cops are apparently wrong in all situations when they can just be doing their jobs.


All I am going to say is no matter how you feel towards the police department I bet you would still call 911 in an emergency.

People who keep "hating" on cops are complete idiots. They either don't understand waht you said(the corrupt/bad cops don't represent the entire department) or they're stupid anarchists or communists.

We need the police, that's the truth. Without it, the criminals wouldn't stop acting: without any opposition, the numbers of crimes would increase drastically. We, innocent citizens, would be in a much greater danger than the one in which we currently are.

If those dumbasses want to risk their lives because of anarchist ideals, fine. But they better risk theirs,not the lives of people that actually have a brain.

The Police from in the US seem very extreme, though its a big country, but it seems like what makes that police different is that its almost like a military.

The Police has a job, the job is about public service, I know someone who is an Officer and she is great, I have met some Police Officers that honestly makes me nervous because they seem to have no concept of right or wrong and no idea of what thehell they are doing, I do have major respect for the Police, and thats not gonna change.
Some people dont but think they can call them anyways as soon as they get scared of their neighbours or some.

What you need to know is that the Police are not experts on the Law, there are Judges, Lawyers etc that actually work with the law, and they are alot more harsher then the Police when it comes to right or wrong or honesty.

I am not gonna ignore if some people are not doing the right thing simply because they are Police-Officers, but that has nothing to do with any lack of respect for the profession or other people actually doing a good job.

No. I was visiting New York City and I asked a cop if I was allowed to park on the side of the road along by the other cars and he said yes as long as I put money in the parking meters. As soon as I left he gave me a parking ticket saying I wasn't allowed to park there.
I'd already wasted 14$ on the meter and came back on time. Now I have to pay the 115 dollar fine.....It was my birthday to yesterday when I got it :/

Most of them are ok I guess, often overly aggressive though. Then there are those abuse their power and over step their authority to get an arrest. They blame/accuse you for things which is not their authority but rather the Judges (if I'm not mistaken). Some of the stuff I've seen NY police do is ridiculous, they quickly become a gang who use excessive force for 1 person.

You should be able to trust them but I think that's hardly the case, most people fear them. Which they happily use against you. And why is that?

What I hate are are poorly trained policemen, or those who have received proper training but still don't act properly.

I like what they do but some individuals take advantage in negative ways. Don't care much for those individuals but they're necessary to prevent and lessen the amount of possible chaos without their presence. Though people often seem to run in rude cops, or hear about them. But people forget they do much more good than bad for the most part.

I only dislike crooked cops, but then again I never did anything against the law so it really doesn't matter to me.

do i like the police? well how can you properly answer that with a yes or no like so many have up top. the police of the united states are corrupt and shitty. yes there are good cops who got into that line of duty to help their community and protect but guess what most did it for power. they did it so they could harass people with little to no reprimands. look at the news lately cops have been killing unarmed people for no damn reason. recently a man was killed for BREAKING UP A FIGHT. the worst part about it was he recognized that cop and told him to stop harassing him which means this wasn't the first time the man was approached by these officers. our police force nationwide needs to be redone and all cops need to go thru some psychological test that decides if they are fit for the line of duty. NYPD is by far the most corrupt of all the departments but we can't just redo one city and say "job well done" the whole system needs to be reformed

You have no reason to hate only them. Government employees didn't come out of nowhere. There isn't a tree that grows politicians and others. They were previously regular citizens, a part of your population.

If corruption or incompetence is constantly present in them, then you might wanna consider that your population is just as bad, of course, proportionatly to the power they possess.
