Do you like obito? Why or why not?

As a character, villian, etc, do you like obito? Why or why not?

I hate him. He's a phedophile who always think's about a 13 year old girl. Worst villain ever.

That is all I have to say.

I don't hate him, but I don't take him seriously as a villain. His motive was poorly executed. Besides that, not much is wrong with him. I liked him a lot as Tobi, though.

OP, he's a fairly developed character. I think's he's far better then half the characters in the manga in that aspect. He's fighting for true peace, can't go wrong with that.

I liked his concept as a villain: he wants to achieve peace, but doesn't believe that it can be achieved normally, so he wants to put everyone to sleep to make a perfect world. Totally believable and makes for a considerable drive to succeed!

However, the looming fact that it's pretty much all centered around some girl dying pretty much kills the whole thing.

I also liked how he wasn't just a ridiculous powerhouse when he was still the masked man; ie, his use of Kamui took skill and he didn't just bombard everyone with enormous jutsu.

But now that he's Juubito looks like that's changed too.

Yeah before he was revealed to be obito, tobi was my favourite villian. To me, kishimoto was a genius for developing a character like that but he really ruined him

I think he is a good solid villain, but his motive and general backstory was poorly done.

In fact his motive is down right terrible, his tragedy was ridiculous, many other characters have more reason to go psycho then he does.

Really his relationship with Rin should have been developed more, the love should have been mutual, and they should have been adults, that would have been much better of a motive.

I like his character alot and what he's trying to achieve. He's sick of the shinobi world as it causes such a harsh reality that it causes and plans to reform the world through whatever means necessary. I like the development from Obito to Tobi. But as an avid fan of Obito, I have to admit that Kishi is overdoing the whole Rin thing.

Uh no, Obito is psychotic, he is a fallen hero, a villain who used to be a very good guy. An example would be Darth Vader.

Edit: Ironically, Darth Vader also wanted to bring peace using harsh methods and did it for someone he loved. (How much you want to bet this is the inspiration for Obito).

A tragic hero is a main character that has a tragic flaw that causes his down fall.

Indeed. Tobi was amazing in every way shape and form. He was funny, but knew how to get down to business when the situation called for it. I don't mind Tobi being Obito, we all predicted that, but the way Kishimoto executed it was sub-par.
