Me personally I prefer the newer
form of hip-hop.

The old school was cool but I don't know
I just enjoy the new music more.

I like alot of old ones, mainly Tupac stuff but I also like some new ones though I couldn't tell you anything. I like every kind of music that appeals to me, the genre doesn't matter to me.

Hip-Hop got played out lol.
I only listen to it for nostalgic purposes and there's very few current rappers that interest me.
I feel like this for most genres. Reason being that artists are either selling out (writing music in a pop convention) or selling in (recycling the old and dressing it up to make it seem novel).

Old school is waaaayyyyy better, you could feel the raps, the flows, the beats, and best of all, you could feel the soul of the rapper in his songs. The only thing I feel when listening to modern shit is my brain cells dying

There is more quality in the old school stuff, but the new school stuff that is good is still definitely worth listening too.

There's some good songs in modern rap, but like 98% of it is pure garbage. It's all about money, bi*ches, and violence. Modern rap doesn't have soul like Old School rap has. If Tupac and Biggie were still alive, they would put all rappers to shame. The only ones I think are good in this day and age are Eminem, Yela Wolf, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Busta Rhymes.

It's too pop-ish now. Before it was more artistic in my opinion because the majority of artists where doing it for fun and love. Once money becomes the main goal and motivation for your art as an artist you are dead.

But I do think the lyrics and more creative now. A lot of old school artists didn't play with the words as deeply as now.

Modern rap for me. Kendrick is my favorite rapper, with GKMC being my favorite rap album of all time and TPaB being my rap AOTY. Him aside, I think the talent pool this generation is enormous with so many different styles. J Cole, A$AP Rocky, Chance, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Killer Mike and El-P, Joey Bada$$ (tbh the last album was meh), Earl, Vince Staples, Travi$ Scott

that's just the premier rappers I like. There's still so many out there, not to mention all the underground talent.

Before dissing this generation of rappers, listen to Kendrick's whole body of work. If you don't like it, move to J Cole. If you don't like it, move to something else until you find something you enjoy. And then find out their style and look at others who are similar. There's something for everyone in this day's rap. I mean, it could be Yung Lean, but if it's something you enjoy, then that's cool.

Just don't be a defener
