You can "watch" a forum and get notifications for new posts/threads. You can do so by clicking on the said forum and below post new thread you will find the option.

You must be registered to see images

It appears as unwatch in the ss because I'm already watching it. But yeah, you can do that and you should get notifications from there onwards.

We're still working on contests right now. I'm not sure if the Fanfiction of the Month contest is running right now but we'll update the base as it goes along.
