She can sense an control sand from pretty far away & she could've been a dangerous character if it wasn't a kids show.. But Gaara has bijuu bombs an all that so she's not winning in a bout like that..

Dude, how do you expect sand to move faster than sound? That Gaara intercepts Amaterasu does not mean it's faster than sound, his guard is always automatically supporting him nevertheless. By simply being on alert that the jutsu is gonna be executed you be able to avoid it with some quick shunshin.
