I feel bad for Hagoromo too. He thought he finally had the solution and that the transmigrations would end with this generation but Sasuke is going to try to force his will on everyone. Does he truly think that even if he manages to beat Naruto and kill the Hokages that everyone would be happy to make him Hokage? Is he going to continually use genjutsu to have his way with the people? They will never acknowledge him if he hurts Naruto and the Hokages.
I don't think it feels forced so much as rushed. If nothing else I hope Hagoromo has them wake everyone up from IT before he leaves. If Sasuke is so confident in what he is doing, he should not mind everyone watching him attempt it. Just like Naruto asked everyone to stay out of his fight with Pain he will probably do that with this fight too. The longer everyone stays in IT the closer they are to becoming WZ.
This fight has been foreshadowed for a long time. Since there is the movie coming out we know Naruto won't die. Since they both won't be dying as foretold that means they will both live. So the end of this fight will be TNJ. Naruto will probably use Itachi's ideals to talk Sasuke down. This will be the last blow though and Sasuke will be punished by the village for doing this. This will wash away whatever good will he gained from helping to defeat Kaguya. Once he is TNJ'd Sasuke will probably accept whatever his punishment will be. It would remain to be seen if Orochimaru would let him accept it.
