His methods were cruel sometimes, he was hardcore, but he believed that what he did, was in favor for Konoha. He really loved Konoha...

I think he was too hardcore (but a real ninja tho), but at the end he was just a soldier from Konoha who tried everything he could for the village. (however his decision during Pain's attack was wayyyy too hardcore)

Remember when he was talking to Sasuke about self sacrifice and all of the shadow-ish deeds done in the Hidden Leaf? All peace can't do anything, so it was up to Danzo to do the unspeakable things in the shadows that actually kept the leaf in "peace".

The guy is the biggest Douche in the series. Stole Uchiha eyes, sided with Orochimaru, let Pain destroy Konoha, forced Itachi's hand, tried to kill Sasuke the best Uchiha ever!! For that last one alone he deserved to die!!! I'm glad he's dead.

not really, he made a lot of morally wrong choices and I'm not completely convinced he had good intentions to drive him.

his actions during the pain arc were very suspect in particular. not only did he refuse to help the village, he wanted the villagers to be killed off as they were tsunade supporters.

his actions re sasuke were understandable, although still a ***** move given he forced itachi to murder his clan on the condition that he would spare sasuke.

and he showed to be very obsessed with power and control, not a hero's quality imo.

Hm, he's a tough one. Everything he did was for the village but he was too hardcore about it. Stealing sharingan eyes, helping Hanzo, helping Orochimaru, and letting Pain destroy the village was too much. Nonetheless though, he did it for what he thought was right. He's not a hero IMO but he's definitely no villain, let's just leave it at that.

The dude wasn't afraid of getting his hands dirty, in order to protect his village. He was a true badass :scorps:

He cared about the village but not the people per say. He killed people in his own village and he watched his two body guards fight without even stepping in. His rules are to have no emotion and you think he would have emotion for people?
He is more materialistic to me and will always a wanted to be kage plus sneaky.

He is certainly a hero. Danzō Shimura is the the phrase "The end justifies the means" incarnated. Yes, he participated in some morally questionable actions. These included the 'Assassination of Yahiko' and the 'Uchiha Clan Incident' and his actions during the 'Invasion of Pain' were debatable but all of them had a greater reasoning to them. Look at the Akatsuki at the time - Danzō & Hanzō's Goal was to eliminate the Akatsuki Threat - they weren't such a threat then, but could easily become one later on. Had there plan succeeded, Nagato would have died and Akatsuki would not have become as big as its potential allowed it to.. a major aspect of the Mugen Tsukuyomi Project would be shut down as well. In addition, the Uchiha Clan were going to press harder and harder before the invasion - extermination at that point was the only option and Danzō was completely justified to keep Naruto away from the Hidden Leaf.

Letting Tsunade die was a bit harsh but I think it is a morally justifiable in a sense - Tsunade was a very soft-leader. She may not appear that way, but she is - she wanted to bring back International Enemy #2 [Sasuke] to the Hidden Leaf, a village he sought to destroy, believed in Naruto and wanted to put Naruto and Kirabi into the war. Hiruzen was an earlier example of a soft-leader. His policies led to the Hyuga Clan Incident, Invasion of Orochimaru, Two Shinobi World Wars which led to the Kyubi Incident which led to the Uchiha Clan Massacre. Danzō doesn't take risks - he was not a extremist. He was a Utilitarian Enthusiast who followed more Right-Wing/Conservative perspective..

as someone above me stated, he was more concerned w/ the village as opposed to the villagers. honestly was just chasing his ambition to become hokage. i'm sure ROOT did all of his dirty work anyway. as he has in the past ordered other people to do the dirty work (ie. itachi). if he was a hero, he would have spoken up to be the distraction when tobirama's team was ambushed. Hero? no. Villain? no.

Him having no regard for human life made him too wasteful. His lack of trust made him a poor tactician. He had no faith in humanity and thought he was the only one with the ability to change the world for the best. He did have a point about Hiruzen & others being too soft, but he was way too paranoid. And I'm pretty neutral towards him.
