I could see Sasuke and Itachi's line being descendant of Izuna and Obito's line being descendants of Madara.

couldn't be, izuna died before konoha was even founded, and at the foundation of konoha, onoki was a kid, that's pretty far for mikoto and fugaku to be his children

probably great great grand kids

^this, this too is a great point, however in those times, it was of a warring states era, traditionally it is know that

, bringing forth children is a must, male children would be raised to become warriors that would carry on the family's name and legacy

thus you can see, madara having 4 brothers and hashirama having 2, possibly more that died in battle,

other proofs can be shown in the hashirama flashback that it was like that, children fought in wars and died in honor for their clan
