Do you guys believe in the hype that the king punch can knock out a Yonko?
I find it very hard to believe that Shanks the savior can be knocked out by such means.

no it can't knock out a Yonko, WB's punch could sink an island and he didn't knock out Akainu

Whitebeard was holding back. He wasn't prime.

Holding back? Since when? After Ace died he went all out, and that still didn't much to Akainu.

OT: No, I don't believe in the hype.

I think what he means is Whitebeard was no longer at the level he was when he originally came in, as in weakened

No it can't knock out a Yonkou. It would knock them out if they didn't use Haki or any powers and let it hit them. Otherwise it would only hurt the Yonkou slightly

yes it can damage them, I think Jesus Burgess's elbow blow is on par with that punch

He wasn't holding back. He was a dying 72 year old man.
Obviously no where even close to prime Whitebeard - the man who was on equal footing with the Pirate King.

Well to be fair, his punches were assisted by DF power and supported by earthquakes.

Kings' was different, his is all natural and probably inherited power. Now I'm not saying that he's all around stronger than WB, but his punch is on another level.

But yes OP, I do believe in the hype until something contradicts it.

He wouldn't have time to use it against any top-tiers so it's pointless anyways. (But having said that I don't believe the hype).

Even if it is because of a DF, it doesn't change the fact that WB's punches are overall much stronger

And I think we can be pretty sure that Garp's punches are more powerful as well

I'm sure Garps are on par with his, to destroy 8 mountains, and because punches are both characters specialty. One thing I realized is that Garps punches are much, much more destructive than his, while Elizibelio's are much more compressed and focused attacks.

To elaborate, like I said above, Garps punches cover as wide a range as 8 mountains. That's a huge scale of area on a huge scale of destruction. Elizibelios' however, have been given dialogue feats (I dislike to use the word 'hype', they're basically feats based on what somebody says) as well as on screen feats. So seeing all his evidence, as well as his actual punch that can knockout a Yonko, we can see that his punches are focused, compact and nowhere near as wild as Garps, as it barely covered the entire stadium.

But Whitebeard... going by his defining power, earthquakes, and what we've seen from him before he died, I don't believe his punches can knock out a Yonko... nobody can be the strongest at everything better than others, and punches just weren't his specialty. But still, in a fight, 9 times out of 10 he would decimate Eli where he stands.

So Garps punches may be just as strong as his, but lack the focused power to knock out a Yonko. It would probably take 2 of his, full power. I think they're just different is all.

Elizabelo couldn't even take out Bartolomeo, Zoro would probably tank that punch like a boss

Elizabelo is just fodder that knocked out fodder, his punch may be strong but the punch is just empty hype that happens all the type in manga, WB's punches were kinda his specialty because when he hit his DF would wreck stuff up, his DF is a part of his punch and Garp didn't obliterate 8 mountains with 1 punch :), but that doesn't mean Garp's punch isn't stronger than Elizabelo's

Elizabelo is a noone that just happened to be in 1 of the blocks

Elizabelo couldn't even hurt someone like Bartolomeo there is no way that he is knocking out a Yonko
