[Discussion] Do you believe in "Love at first sight"?

So im at Universal Studios and I get in line for the Hulk rollercoaster. I get behind this girl that looks to be around my age. I didnt really look at her until we had to wait to get on because of the rainy weather. I took just one look at her and my God. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. I couldnt even get a word out to her before she got on the ride. But while I was riding the Hulk all I could think about was her guys. I have one more day at Universal Studios and maybe just maybe if its meant to be, Ill see her again.

Sorry guys for this mushy lovey dovey topic but needed a place to vent. So do you guys believe in love at firsg sight?

I feel like actual love happens when you get to know someone(friends, people from class, work Etc).
Love at first sight is simply an attraction towards the person, Not love.

Thinking someone is beautiful and actually loving someone is different. Everyone see's women in their lives that they think is pretty/beautiful, but the first glance part just means you could "fvck" at first sight. Love, in my mind, has to be built with knowing someone. But hell I'm not married so im no expert

It's not how many people think though; it's very subtle and begins to pervade slowly over time. But even in it's subtlest form, it's powerful.

Evidently though, many on here are still quite green.

I should also point out that love at first sight has nothing to do with the thing between your legs. It's nothing to do with looks or attractiveness because believe me, the person I fell for wasn't particularly good looking.

Nope. That girl was just attractive to you and probably had some sort of charisma or held herself in a way that you liked. I highly doubt you were in love. When I was in my teen years (I'm 22, so it wasn't like it was so long ago that I can call teens "young"), I used to go through that "I think I'm in love because she's fine as shit" phase. After college time of dating and having a girlfriend for the last two years whose done everything for me, and stayed with me before and after the surgery of my hand and my six month recovery, I have a very short fuse for girls in some ways.

Like, if I became single tomorrow, I would have changed completely with what I like in girls. Some girls I would "love" until they opened their mouth and I realize how stupid they are. Likewise, some girls I wouldn't be interested in, even if they were gorgeous, but would like the minute they started talking. Looks are IMPORTANT don't get me wrong. We all have preferences and if you don't have mine you won't catch my eye. But also, you can look like my preference, but I will never be into you unless you bring something to the table.

TLDR version: Girl might be hot, but if she's not your type it's never going to be love.

I don't believe in anything mystical; as far as I can tell or seem to understand it, romantic "love" is just a term people use for the feelings others often develop in long-term relationships but which have a sexual / pair bond aspect. By that standard, no, I don't think "love at first sight" exists.
