People need to go back to basics. The first proto-religions were based off of rituals that our early ancestors had. These were based of animist beliefs, a well as shaman-based societies. Animist belief if defined as believing that all things have souls. This is not special as children will independently think of their stuffed animals as friends until they grow up and realize that inanimate objects don't have feelings. Shaman beliefs are easy to understand, as hallucinogenic plants keep a firm grasp on society even today. Basically, our ancestors were like children, and we have had their beliefs passed down to us through the ages. But you know what? There comes a time when we must grow up. When we must realize that there is no Santa Claus. That there is no magical being with angels that decides our lives and give us luck. Grow up and look at the world objectively and see nature the way it really is. Many people argue "This world is so special, or how would science explain all the interesting things that happen like Intelligent life?" Very easily.
In an infinitely large universe, no matter how improbable something is, it will happen an infinite amount of times. And if not in this universe, than definitely in another alternate dimension.
Maybe we, as a species are just not grown-up enough yet. Maybe our evolution into a more intelligent form of life hasn't reached it's peak and humans will continue to become smarter. Eventually smart enough to cast aside silly superstitions based on their own analysis of the universe.

My opinion: No, i don't believe in god. Personally i have a problem putting my faith in something i can't objectively prove. Objectively, there is zero rational evidence to prove the existence of a god. We have holy books like the bible and quran, but neither of those things should be the center of someones life. The bible has many great philosophies, jesus was a brilliant man, but the idiots ho wrote that book twisted his ideals and turned him into a martyr. People who live every day of there life by the bible are morons, it says crap about how i can sell my daughter into slavery, or if i rape someone i have to marry her. The people who wrote the bible were a bunch of misogynistic racist ass holes.

I gave a good reason a while back that I haven't seen anyone step up to contradict yet. And it pertains to scientists' search for the "formula" for life. They've come close, I won't deny that, but they've only ever been able to make parts of a cell, not an entire living cell. Is it because they just haven't gotten it right yet, or is it because it's a secret known only to God? The day lab-created living cells are presented to the world, I'll have a good reason to think twice about religion.

Yes, i would most certainly be alive if there was no god, because i am alive and there is no god. So since i am alive, and i don't believe in god, that means there is no god. At least, if we follow your logic.

But if God decided to take your life then he'd be wrong, right? It seems like if God did that then people would start saying how God is so wrong and how God isn't just because he decided to take your life because you don't believe in his religion. I dont say I can prove you anything,because I'm not a scientist nor almighty XD but you also cannot prove god's existence, you just assume that he has to exist because you cannot imagine/understand how the universe works (I mean noone really understands it now but our knowledge is far better than for example 1000 yrs ago) and/or cannot accept that once your life will be ended and there is nothing after. Yeah its not easy to accept but just because you dont understand something you cannot say its not true and come up with another entity who is also misterious and cannot be fully comprehended...So even if you believe in god you wont understand the universe better, just hope that god knows everything and give you eternal life. And why not assume instead that the material which our world is consist of , is not out of nothing but existed for eternity. Saying that god is the substance that has been existing for eternity just twists the question but it solves nothing.
