I'd say 2/5.
He had a perfect opportunity to develop characters he has neglected throughout the series, like team 8 and team Gai. But instead he has to either
a. Focus on ****ing team 10 who he clearly favors over everyone else.
b. Bring back fully developed characters from the dead and focus on them instead.
Also he brings back fan favorite characters and takes them out in like 1 panel (Sasori, Deidara, Kakuzu)
He didn't revive Kisame with the 7 swordsmen, then he skipped the whole 7 swordsmen battle (the one that people actually wanted to see) and instead showed us some boring talky battles.
It doesn't feel like a war, it is the happiest war of all time. He should have made the bad guys actual people so the characters actually had to kill people and have to deal with the emotions from that.
Nobody died, except Neji who I'm convinced had the worst death of all time. I'm serious, that was the worst manga writing I've ever seen. Inouchi and Shikaku were a little better, but they weren't important enough to make an impact.
Obito is the worst antagonist ever. He wouldn't be that bad but Kishi has written probably 50 pages of him saying the same stupid bullshit speech, and Naruto saying the same annoying rebuttal EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. If Obito would have just said it once or twice, then it would be fine. He even said it again in the latest, chapter, like we don't know already.
Sasuke and Oro turning good. I don't need to elaborate on why this is stupid.
It had some good moments, which is why I gave it a 2/5. But the negatives definitely outweigh the positives.
I would have rather seen the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shinobi war instead. They all sound infinitely more interesting.
