Well, Sasuke should be hokage.... This is coming from a big time naruto fan. If naruto doesn't give him the hokage seat. This will be Hashi vs madara all over again....
Before you say Sasuke should be Hokage, think about what kind of Hokage he will be. I don't think he fits as a Hokage candidate because he doesnthave the right mind set. Yes, he has a goal like the OP said, but none of us knows what that goal is. Most people just assume that it's something better for the village. Plus, Naruto can't give him the Hokage seat. If Naruto even refuses to be a Hokage, there are other suitable candidates like Kakashi.
There is somethings a hokage candidate needs in order to become Hokage:
1) A recommendation from someone on the council.
2) After he becomes a real candidate, the Jounins need to vote for who they want as their Hokage.
Naruto won't even be at the meeting.
A Hokage also need to have certain qualities that Sasuke doesn't have and I also think that people are forgetting all the hints Kishi has been throwing around about Naruto becoming Hokage. He even fought for his dream against Obito.
I don't think Making Sasuke Hokage will stop the cycle of hatred. Sasuke needs to accept things when the time comes. That's the only way.
EDIT: You think giving an Uchiha more power (becoming Hokage) will end the curse of hatred? That's not going to happen.
