Yeah, I mean with Kakashi becoming Hokage Sasuke has time to create a better image in the village so he can at least run against Naruto and if he loses then he has Madara's example to fall back on so ..... The fight seems dead atp

Why would it happen? Suckske already knows the Uchias were in the wrong all along. They were played by BZ and their famous tablet was screwed up, so everything he thought he knew the entire series has turned into false conclusions. Even the bijuu are actually good and he can witness it first hand. So what motivation does he have at this point to pick a fight (especially one he couldn't win anyway)?

I don't think so.
I think Sasuke is trying to change. I believe that after seeing the final conversation between Hashirama and Madara, he ( Sasuke ) soon realizes what needs to change and that took wrong decisions in the past. He saw and heard that Madara had regrets the path it took.
Sasuke and Naruto have to end with the cycle of love and hate of your ancestors.
