Do Tobirama's skills not really work with each other?

I doubt Tobirama had a single, signature victory technique or strategy. Remember, he was a Senju Clan Member during the Era of Warring States. He was a primary target of the Uchiha Clan and had they discovered Tobirama or Hashirama or etc. had one consistent winning manner, they would quickly create a counter. Having a variety of jutsu let Tobirama prepare for a variety of situations and with such an intellect and experience, he could use them effectively. Suiton can be used in 1 vs 1 scenario or a scenario where Tobirama is being "ambushed" by several enemies but this depends on how powerful his Suiton. Edo Tensei and his "Paper-Bomb Explosion" would be for a situation where Tobirama is performing a suicide mission or one where he is fighting a large number of opponents alone. Hirashin is a versatile jutsu and can be used in many scenarios. Tobirama was prepared for any scenario, which is why his arsenal seems to possess such random jutsu.

Sensing works well with FTG, you have to sense the enemy first before randomly popping in front of a strong foe.
FTG works well with edo, especially if you use ftg switch with an edo so you can give your opponent the gift of infinite exploding tags.
Hokages aren't noob so they have mastery over a certain elements, hence Suiton for Tobirama. Also it makes sense he has suiton because his brother have wood (suiton and doton combination). This shows that senjus have affinity to water and earth style elements.
It all works together, Kishimoto is indeed smart and spent his time on developing Tobirama as a character

You can also add all of them together, Water to att. + shadow clone using FTG not to mention each of them has marked + edo who use paperbomb and each of them has marked

We haven't seen his fighting style.. but your mistaken about something..

Tobirama is a senju.. and a pretty famous one at that... Senju being known as the clan of 1000 skills, known for mastering all forms of ninja combat.. he most likely doesn't have one specific way of fighting... from what we've seen , it seems he'll use his intelligence to defeat the enemy with what ever jutsu in his arsenal.. when on a battlefield against many opponents , he uses his edo tensei in combination with the paperbomb jutsu to wipe out the battlefield..

Instead of having one solid style, Tobirams has created four styles to revolve around (2 of which merge)

1. Suiton

2. Kenjutsu

3. FTG (can mix with Kenjutsu)

4. Edo Tensei



Because they do not naturally mix together, he does not have one set pattern of fighting, and this makes him overall a more deadly opponent. Just when you get used to one style BAM he switches it.

Oh and Edo Tensei can use the suicide bomb like he wants it too. His comment is that it was the first time he used it on himself (because he's never Edo'd himself.
