Do their deaths mean anything?

The death of Inoichi Yamanaka, A, Skikaku. Honestly, i believe that Masashi Kishimoto wanted someone to die, to leave an emotional impact on us. That's all well and fine, but why them? We didn't even have enough time with them to get emotionally attached to them. I get that it's a grueling process to get the chapters out every week, thinking up the story, making the names, illustration, inking, background, etc. And i can imagine that it gets really tough. But...If your going to go for a emotional response, try killing someone were attached to, i get that it's coherent with the plot to destroy HQ(How did Madara know where it was?) But ITS WAR. Anything can happen. And even though we're this far into this arc, the devastation of the events occurring seems...manageable...If that makes any sense. Don't get me wrong i like the fact someone died...I just wish it was the kind of death that would have me feel like my heart got kicked in the nuts. Instead of "Damn it, i'm out of cheeseburgers". Sorry for the horrible analogy.

LOL at the cheeseburgers. xd

Kishi wanted someone relatively important to the story, die now. But don't worry. Next chaps, I'm sure someone more important will die.

I contemplated that...But they won't have much face time, and the only thing we can get(that is if we see them.)is a three page reaction. Sorry if i sound like an complete pessimist. I just really want Naruto to be as emotionally engaging as it used to be...Remember Garra? That made me tear up.

A. People get mad when no one of significance dies even though it's a war of high stakes, the important people seem to have too much immunity.

B. People get mad when people of significance die, even when it's important to have the stakes raised by having the badguy obliterate the army's command center and also squash their morale and show how badass Shikaku is for using his remaining time to come up with another strategy in the face of doom.

Author can't win.

I understand you're not attached-enough to the characters to get any satisfaction from that moment, but some were. I thought Shikaku was awesome and saw him walking around with Kakashi alot when they were preparing for a transition in leadership while Tsunade was out. Also the time he confronted Shikamaru in the hospital after the failure to bring back Sasuke. So your sentiments to the author don't reflect how all of us feel.
