Do some people really have to be forgiven ?

Day by day we're hearing about how people are becoming more and more cruel ...
We're seeing murders in the streets, people killing for fun ...

But we also see people who forgive the ones i mentioned above ...
My question is, do this people really deserve forgiveness ?
I know that to forgive is one of the greatest acts a human can do, but i just can't agree with that ...
They need to be punished the way the committed their faults and crimes !!! :Omg:

Depends on your philosophical standpoint. To me, a man who takes another's life for no good reason deserves nothing but death in return.

to be honest , this is a pointless thread , because this is the way life is , where there is light , there is also darkness , in this world there will always be winners and loosers.

I respect your opinion, but some things need to change, I mean it could be better if something like an universal law existed :dunno:

Hmm it all comes down to what you believe honestly. If you don't think those people deserve to be forgiven, then you have every right to feel that way. On the other hand, it really is the road to peace...though the majority will not have tried this tactic before we die sadly. Its one of the hardest disciplines out there, being able to forgive someone who has wronged you and being able to actually be ok with that forgiveness, but once you are able to do it and truly only care about your happiness and not dwell in the negativity...its a good feeling and good karma usually comes back around.

Is forgiveness ever deserved by someone who commits an act of cruelty? No.
Forgiveness is not about the person who committed the act. It's about the victim/victim's family and friends/witnesses ability to let go, feel at peace and move forward. Being angry always hurts the person that feels it more in the long run that the person it's directed toward.

for me it mostly depends on intentions. but i don't think punishment and forgiveness are in contradiction. for instance i believe that if someone served their time in jail and promised not to break the law again, they should be fully forgiven. in purgatory you'r soul is punished only until it is clensed and afterwards can enter heaven, but inferno is for eternity. and reserved for really heinous acts.
