things might also end up differently from what i last posted.

For example when itachi told kabuto that kabuto is the one who is controlling his own fate he meant:
Kabuto can get out of izanami on one condition which i really doubt kabuto would be able to realize till the time he dies and it is: Realizing his true self. if kabuto was able to realize his true self he will break out of it.

Most likely this can be the scene for this idea:

1) kabuto cannot escape izanami cuz he cant find his true self

2) After itachi releases all edos except for madara cuz he just too powerful, itachi kill him before he 2 dies

3) just before he dies kabuto realizes his true self and thanks itachi.

are you stupid, or just in denial? I'm guessing you're just misunderstanding, so I shall explain ...again, itachi is not trying to release the edo, he is trying to force kabuto to relaese the edo technique, this will result in all edos dying/going back to being dead, meaning the end of itachi, though it has been hinted that madara expects to come back in some other way than edo & that he knew tobi before he died, so not necessarily the end of madara though he will also go back to being dead.
the 1 way for kabuto to get out of izanami is death of itachi, there is only 1 way itachi can die because he is edo, which is if kabuto releases the edo tensei -resulting in all edos going back to being dead
