Does parents have a lot of influence over their kids thoughts, manners, opinions, views, etc? Or do kids get these things elsewhere?

Obviously not. Because I am 100% certain no parent would raise their daughter to be a house-wife.

Lol, of course parents are going to have a influence on their children, though it really just depends on the family situation and who you spend your time with obviously

In an abusive/controlling home, yes. There's a large difference between being influenced and being forced.

First point of contact/knowledge and perception are parents, the mother. After that it's sibling if there are any if not then relatives and neighbours. And going up through that cycle, nursery (friends), school(teachers), tv propoganda etc. However, a person forms their foundation on primary experiences so parents influence a child's future to a large degree.

yes, how you raise a kid really changes how they grow up and what they become.

Yes, you put your child on a certain path. Every decision can sway your child into a different one. Controlling your child is the bad option, you need to treat your children as a person and not like an object you are forced to take care off. However, a child can take control of there own destiny. But their foundation will always be in the parents hand, and if you mess that up you are responsible for the trainwreck.

Of course they do, in my opinion, you are the fruit of experiences in your lifetime, anything and anyone that has a bond with you instinctively has an influence.

Of course, because it's who you live with and are raised by. A lot of their morals and ideals get passed on, but ultimately, it's up to the child to believe in what they believe. Everyone has the ability to have free will.

Obviously yeah, however a large influence also stems from society and also the now the internet, kids these days are less likely to share their parents views considering the wide array of influence, plus times are changing and people are realising that the general beliefs of generation X and boomers are deficient and selfish. imho

Maybe... it depends on their age. If they are already adults not much at all (from my personal experience least)

Parents are the primary source of education. Most of people's morals generally align with with their family's level of involvement and education. (with a few exceptions of course).

They're also the ones who decide how influential the other sources of information are in your life (internet, video games, friends).

In short, the answer is yes.
