I don't really believe in God but I agree. Asking a God's paradox is not asking God to solve it, it's asking humans to solve it. And since we can't solve it we use it as a way to prove God doesn't exist. Which I think is stupid.

Humans might not be able to solve it but that doesn't mean a God wouldn't.

Honestly the real and true answer is whatever you believe in. If god exists in your mind then he exists. If he doesn't exist then he doesn't. Its all about personal perspective. You can't expect someone else to answer your own question for you

I don't think anyone here cares enough to talk about this again. Especially not when it's started by a tobidara guy.

If you are going to make another one of these threads, then you better be sincere and wholeheartedly consider what is presented to you. Most of the reading material I can share with you will pertain to the Judeo-Christian god and that tradition because I learn in a Jewish school that teaches as much. The only other perspectives I can particularly offer are atheism, epicureanism, antireligosity, and humanism. They are definitely not the only perspectives, and I would encourage you to do more research on your own if this is an issue that deeply intrigues or perturbs you. I cannot tell you what is true, but if you study and reflect upon the methods procured by other theologians and heretics alike, you will discern for yourself where your faith lies, if anywhere.

Behind the question of the existence of a god remain other questions which may aid you in your spiritual journey or discovering your lack of spirituality. Even "god" is an extremely vague term that is often replaced by more defining terms according to separate traditions and beliefs. What are the consequences of a creator god? What are the consequences of a god that decides all that happens? What does it mean to say that there is no god? What is the difference between faith and belief and how does one's particular breed of each affect their notion of the ethereal?

WARNING: The articles by Jewish authors were written for Jews, so it will presume that you know certain things about the Jewish tradition.

Jewish articles

On post-Holocaust theology. I think this article would be helpful for you because it attempts to answer how one can have faith in God when bad things happen, which you expressed in the opening post.

More on post-Holocaust theology.

A discussion of faith with regards to reason and tradition.

A discussion of faith and how people alienate themselves from other people and God.

If you enjoyed these and would like more suggested reading, let me know. I would recommend Joshua Heschel for a very religious perspective (i.e. if everyone were religious, we could reach salvation.)

As an atheist, I really did not enjoy reading so many articles written with the assumption of God's existence, but you might enjoy those.

For a critical view of religion, I would suggest the book Mencken on Religion. H. L. Mencken was a libertarian American satirist who discussed religion in terms of politics, science, and society. His style can be described as a mix of wit and persiflage. I actually just got this one in the mail today, so I haven't finished it yet, but thus far it is everything I hoped it would be.

explores freedom and faith in 1880's Russia, under the rule of the Orthodox Church.

God is a 'belief', if you want to believe, go ahead.
If you don't want to believe, good for you.
Does god exist?? Yes it does. For a blind person the guy who helps him cross the road, is a god. For a tree, guy who waters it is a god. We all meet gods everyday in different forms and at different phases of life. God is everywhere, god is there in every human being.

That's an intelligent way of putting it.

Believing in someone who sits there and judges your life and decides where you do and don't belong is basically like believing in an almighty Mean Girl
