I'm catholic and I know the world is billions of years old. Let's not group everyone together, here.
Ah, I see. He's asking which one of you two is more ignorant, the one with "hope and love" or the one without it, with him apparently being the one with hope and love. That's quite an assumption though, I'm pretty sure atheists can have love and hope too
Christians are irrational people who throw away reality just to stick to their so called "faith". Faith is just believing in something without evidence. Christians are funny people, trying to push their fantasies into my head, making me think that their is a place that we go to after we die.
As for the topic, Christians are just naïve simple minded folk who will believe anything that comes out of their little book of stories, and try to pass it off as fact.
Precisely this. The seven days that God took to make the Earth were not literal days, but many many eras.I'm a Christian and I believe that the world and our universe was created way before this. I believe that the 7 "days" that God took to create the Earth and populate it were in fact metaphors for millions/billions of years. This would also allow time for evolution and dinosaurs and things like that.

Jesus christ. The people who say this kind of stuff are the ones who are oblivious and obnoxious, and by your narrow-minded point of view, I'm sure you're one of those people.
Christians are no more irrational than atheists, agnostic, or anyone else. It's a pretty simple idea: they believe in something you don't. What I noticed about atheists and agnostic is that they become highly irritated at the fact that something is not backed up by an 'official' source. Let me remind you, everything that's written in your school text book is not foolproof. Those "facts" are just as fallible as the "theories" you're bashing that Christians make. Stop being an ass and have some respect for another way of thinking. You don't have to agree with it, or even understand it, but bashing it is stupid. No point.
I can never understand how atheists and agnostics bash Christians for being so idealistic when they're some of the most close-minded people known to man; all they do is spit out pessimistic and nihilistic crap thinking they're "superior" to religious people.

Talking about facts, sad thing is it's been christians and other religions that tried to rule, inflict war and push their beliefs on their own nations and others,in the name of god, thinking they are superior. u.u
lolSo much generalization, this post could be a table of contents.
It's never truly been because of religion though has it? Sadly in many cases it's little more than a tool.
If beliefs can be used as tools for wars and oppressing others, then there must be a serious problem with that belief.

Agonists are the exact opposite of closed minded lol
Anything can be manipulated into a tool of destruction.
I could cut down a tree and make it fall on you. So trees must also be inherently bad, correct?
You're more than welcome to try again when you have something that's remotely cunning. Until that time comes..
From my experience, no. Perhaps I'm talking to the wrong people
Lol, did I hit a nerve. I couldn't care less about your feelings or your Christians beliefs.Jesus christ. The people who say this kind of stuff are the ones who are oblivious and obnoxious, and by your narrow-minded point of view, I'm sure you're one of those people.

Dat flawed logic.
If god exists and expects you to worship him, why would you use this for causing harm to others?
On the other hand, a tree is a tree, a physical object created by your supposed-to-be-existing god. A tree ot a belief that can manipulate you. A tree does not expect you to worship it, didnt give holy isystemtion an ancient book, and noone would be stupid enough to believe you if you say that the tree will punish you in the afterlife if you dont believe its a god tree (lol Madara)
Because there is corruption. Obviously morality is compromised when dealing with, Money, land or power.
You seem to be confused. The belief itself is not god. God is a theoretical entity. A belief system is a structured group of organized creeds, moral systems and explanatory literature that deals commonly with creation and the origin of mankind or sentience as a derivative of some previous occurance in time.
The belief system itself, like a tree, had no conscience, Is incapable of thinking or thought, and is simply the collective intellectual ideal shared (while this is debatable) by a large mass of people around the globe.
I don't see why you are comparing a god to the tree, when it is clearly the belief system itself we are discussing, and it is the belief system itself that is applicable to my example. Comprehension of this should not be a challenge.
God itself is a belief. As simple as that. Comprehension of this should not be a challenge.
No, God is part of a belief system. God itself is a theoretical entity. Humans choose to believe that this entity exists, but god itself is not Christianity. Christianity is a belief system, god is an entity that is believed to be real by those who follow similar diest belief systems.
As I said before you are clearly confused. I noted that a belief system is as easily manipulated as a tree. However for some reason you compared god to the tree
