Do characters have to state the Jutsu name to use it?

Something I may have known at one one, but has been whittled down to unsure as I see occasions where they do not and just do it, but does Naruto really have to yell out like

"Tajuu Kage bunshin no Jutsu"

To use Mass Kage Bunshin?

screaming the jutsu's name is like praying out loud. you want your prayers answered then scream it at the top of your lungs.

sometimes just saying things in your head doesn't cut it. Not ALL THE TIME , but some of the time. Not all jutsu , but some.

Jutsu have sounds so saying them out loud is just acceptable. In Asian culture, in some forms of martial arts, or praying.. its necessary that you use your voice & vocal chords for chanting not just in your mind.

Hell, you are talking about saying the name of a jutsu,......ask kubo,...he will tell you both the name of the technique , and allows villians to explain how it works even without asking......

LOL at you guys. I agree. Saying/Screaming out the name of the Jutsu is Idiotic. If ya wanna learn a Jutsu do it right. Learn it to the point that you don't need to scream out the Jutsu and use as little seals as possible. In the case of Kage Bunshin. Hasn't he used it SO MUCH that he should have a SHIT TON of experience with said Jutsu that it should be second nature to do it. Mold the same chakra again and again and again..........and again. You feeling me? Sometimes we see him just Form the seal and Poof: We have Clones. But most of the time he has to scream it out...

Eh, I was under the impression they don't actually shout them out loud in the manga, not always at least, since the text for jutsu names doesn't go into speech bubbles, like here for instance:

I think Kakashi or Sakura said in part 1 that by saying out the name of the jutsu loud out, it raises fear in opponents and to keep them at a distance. Saying out the name loud acts like a defensive thing even if it's a little. Opponent won't attack rashly.

Naruto is a loud mouth character, so no offense XD

you can go through the anime part, just the way the characters call out their jutsu.

No,...it's just for the readers' sake of understanding what is going on. Be rather dull if we never heard the name of any jutsu used. It's just for emphasis.

No. It's only there because it's a manga and you have to read everything.

It's the same for every manga/anime. It's comes out as characters screaming their technique name in the anime because it's derived directly from the manga.

Nah, its just to let viewers and readers know the actual names of the jutsu. In the anime, they are shouting it in their heads.

Yeah, but they do say it themselves, so its not always an editors note type deal, you know? Like Naruto yells his hit, sasuke yells his shit, Kakashi seems to murmer it when he does it
