Do all the elements have extra properties?

First,lets take a look at the know elemental types,including the 2 kekkei genkai:

Water
Fire
Earth
Air
Lightining
Wood
Ice

Now....Im curious to know do they all have extr properties like how lighting can numb/stun or wind can increase cutting power....Im thinking maybe wood has healing capabilites and maybe earth has defensive capabilites?

This since ice is actually a combination of wind and water, wood is actually a combination of earth and water.

Good thoughts with the healing ability. Yamato for example reproducing his cells in order to create clones or wood techniques right from his body, so why don't use the cell reproducing in order to heal himself as well? Or his Mokuton is giving him the possibility to create diverse herbal remedies? Would be a high state of the Mokuton in this case.
