First off, I wouldn't call Doom Metal to Black Metal a large range; perhaps Rachmaninoff and Belphegor to Tony Braxton and the Subhumans. Secondly, Black Sabbath is classic rock. Yes, they have slow down-tuned progressions that influenced Doom Metal, but they are still classic rock. Finally, teenager's music is not terrible. It is different. The Golden Generation hated the Beatles that their children listened to, the Baby Boomers hated grunge that their children listened to, and Gen-Xs hated hip-hop and what the Millennials listen to. That is part of growing up. The fact that you don't like teenager's music is just a sign that you are getting older.

This would be Appeal to Authority, where you assume just because something has a lot of reputation for knowing a lot on a subject, that what they would say is immediately true.

This dismisses nothing, however. Black Sabbath is still widely debated to as if their earlier albums were hard rock or heavy/doom metal, originating from the fact that many bands classified as Hard Rock during that era could have easily passed as Heavy Metal as well.

It's pretty much a given that popular music isn't necessarily good music, just like fashion doesn't really indicate what looks good.

There are plenty of teens that have distinct tastes in music. I always find it interesting to see the age range of people at say, a Rush concert: 12-65+

Personal tastes can grow over time to accept the best of the new and disregard the pop stuff that most people bandwagon.

I am not the one to say that whole new gen is garbage or new music is shitty... I do not like "i am only 6 months old but i listen to The Doors hurr" kiddos which youtube comment section floods with either. Even most of teenagers who listen "good stuff" are ignorant bumhurt hipsters who think they are special.

One of the legendary bands like Accept dishes out something like this, but does not even have 40.000 viewers? Yet kids complain there is no good stuff nowadays. There is, both from old musicians and new ones. I do enjoy bands like Volbeat or Imagine Dragons, which are pretty good and relatively young (infact latter is quite popular) but older guys still do stuff and we can luckily witness them.

People just don't bother to search and just complain. Forget what mainstream media brings or who they give a damn award. St Anger won Grammy at some point, like the hell? No need to complain about how invalid thise awards are, they had been like that for years.

This was not directed to you OP btw, but just saying. Eveytime has it goods and bads. Let people do what they like and do what you want.
