[Discussion] Do Aliens exist?

u cant really define aliens. If we live in a multiverse, which I believe we do, then it is plausible tht we r not alone. In another context, we might be aliens to another species, so we can call ourselves "aliens"

I believe the existence of extraterrestrial life is nearly a mathematical certainty. While our own existence is exceptionally improbable - whatever system led to the rise of life on our planet almost certainly would have generated similar results, elsewhere.

Now... whether or not it is flying around above our heads.... I don't know.

Logical arguments can be given for why they would not be expressing what we interpret to be attempts at contact.

One of which I've developed and have been rather partial to (since it departs from alien worshipping tendencies): We are more advanced than them.

That might sound silly... but ability doesn't necessarily translate to capacity. If we accept that modern accounts of flying objects tied to ET activity parallel historic examples... we can conclude that not a whole lot has changed for ET, technology wise, for the past 30,000 years (cave paintings and oral history predating written languages tell of wars fought amongst gods in the sky). The same can be said for us... kind of. Agriculture took off - and it's been exponential growth since then. Metal working advanced hand-over-fist and the steam engine coupled with electricity drove us into cubic growth rates. 100 years ago, we were just getting the hang of electricity. Or so the alien scouts reported.

Then, two decades later, they pick up gamma radiation spikes and we're nuking things. Vacuum tubes are everywhere (possibly a novel technology to them - something lost to their own history or possibly never developed by their species/coalition).... then someone gets the great idea for a transistor based on this 'quantum mechanics' thing...

And here we are, today.

We just went from considering them gods to having a glimpsing how their technology might function within two generations.

If there are aliens watching us - we're probably turning some heads.

And that -might- be why they are being more cautious. It's not like we need to be given any hints on how their technology works. We'll have their shit reverse-engineered before they get done figuring out how we reproduce (since that seems to be a popular field study for them).

Of course - we could also be some kind of experiment or 'problem solving' contingent... kind of like how we evolve bacteria to perform certain functions by controlling their environment - perhaps we are part of a larger network intended to solve various technological problems that would be difficult for a species/culture with established doctrine to develop.

But - that all bases on the assumption that ET knows we are here and has been visiting much at all.

i believe they may be life out there in space but i dont believe they are how the media show aliens like being super advance that they can travel galaxys in quick time i believe they would be like us in that they focus on survival and they may have intelligence like ares or that of an animal and they could be smarter than us or not

and regards to that video there is know way he is an alien as we have never seen one out side of films and tv shows and because we have never seen one we try to identify them by what the media label an alien and all that guy is, is a person who looks different also why would the president or who ever make an alien a body guard and risk the alien being found out and all this video will do is bring unwanted attention to this guy

They exist, sure. It would be silly to think we're 'special' as the only ones in this entire universe.

However, I don't believe they're as we imagine them to be. I doubt they'd be capable of space-travel, and even if they were, I don't think they'd be all that interested in us.

Speaking about that video, the bodyguard looks more like Agent 47 than an alien. xD

Yes I am 98% certain they exist. Our galaxy is like a microscopic dot in the universe, and there are trillions and trillons of other dots out there. We can't assume that we are the only the living things in this universe. It takes thousands, if not millions of light years for us to reach another galaxy. That's probably the reason why we haven't seen any other forms of life besides us. However there are unexplainable stories out there where people have witnessed saucers of all shapes and sizes or have been in contact with aliens. Who knows? If they are out there, then they're probably monitoring our behaviours and conducting experiments on us. They probably have technologies so advanced that things we thought were impossible were possible e.g. spacecrafts travelling at the speed of life, stopping time.
I always had a feeling that the government was hiding something from us... because if they did say aliens are real, then people would panic and things might become chaotic.

I'm going out on a limb, and I will say yes It's just stupid to think that aliens don't exist. There's billions of other planets, there's bound to be some sort of life on one of them. People only look at us and say that we couldn't live on a different planet, so there can't be aliens out there. But they have probably evolved to fit their own environment.

I have a gut feeling that "other humans" on another planet in another galaxy is totally possible.
