I think they both are different, and I think Oro sucked out his chakra alone and while doing that he de-activated Kabuto's SM. But he didn't pulled out his DNA out of Kabuto. Meaning Kabuto can use the snake moves but his eyes won't transform into Oro's eyes while using his Sage mode again. In that way, Oro removed his chakra.

Similarly, Madara got Hashirama's DNA but not his chakra and hence Madara could pull out Mokuton jutsus plus control them. But Hashirama cannot control the Mokuton which Madara released because Hashirama's chakra is not there. But when Madara sucked out Hashirama's senjutsu chakra, he actually absorbed Hashirama's chakra and hence Hashirama gave Sasuke his chakra to control Madara's/Hashi's senjutsu chakra.

Now back to Oro, when he gives curse mark to someone, he only shares chakra with the target.
Sasuke absorbed Oro plus had curse mark and hence Oro surfaced when Sasuke's chakra became nil.
When Sasuke resurrected Oro out of Anko, he needed Oro's DNA, which was also a part of DSM Kabuto. When Sasuke undid the seal on Anko and merged the chunk of meat/Oro's/Kabuto's DNA with the unsealed Oro's chakra, Oro got resurrected.
When Oro removed his chakra out of Kabuto, the SM got deactivated. But Kabuto can use the SM again because he's still got his own chakra along with Oro's DNA. Because his blood group is AB+. Also he SM didn't remained because Kabuto's chakra was already disrupted by Izanami. Oro's chakra was responsible for Kabuto's appearance. And hence DSM Kabuto minus Oro's chakra appearance will be different. Kabuto is now how Orochimaru was, Oro used the principles of white snake and it became a part of Oro. In a Similar way, Kabuto has now become.
O+W = OW
OW + K = OWK
OWK - O = WK
O=Oro
W=White snake
K = Kabuto


About Shisui's case, Shisui's MS activates again after 10 years in case of normal people ( example the crow who had Shisui's eyes can be assumed to be preserved for 10 years ) But by using Hashirama's chakra ONLY, the time required for the MS activation can be drastically reduced. Danzo had both Hashirama's chakra as well as DNA. chakra for Shisui's eye and 10 Sharingans. DNA to control the Kyuubi. And hence when Danzo got weakened, Hashirama's chakra took control and turned into a tree. Otherwise that couldn't have happened.
Obito got Hashirama's DNA but not chakra.


Currrent Madara got Hashirama's DNA as well as chakra. But to stop Hashirama from controlling Madara, Madara nailed the black rods into Hashirama's pressure points which is not allowing him to mold chakra.
And by giving the chakra he had now to Sasuke, Hashirama is planning to let Sasuke control his chakra which has become a part of Madara now. Because Edo Hashirama doesn't have flesh to give his DNA to Sasuke. By using Hashirama's chakra, Sasuke can perform a jutsu (probably which doesn't need Mokuton) which can control Hashi's chakra inside Madara.

Conclusion : DNA and chakra are two different things. Both can be used differently as well as together.

I don't understand the logic of how do you manage to transform chakra into DNA.

Also, where did you get the idea of Sasuke having Orochimaru's DNA? He only got his abilities, not his DNA...

And if you're talking about Itachi's battle, that is another case, because Curse Mark is a medium to unseal Orochimaru, just like the Summoning Technique.

Chakra is the extension of one self. Sasuke absorbed orochimaru and got his abilities.

I have to mention that Chakra is related to DNA, but DNA has properties that Chakra doesn't have.

We have to look into chapter 510 in order to decypher what are the properties that Chakra doesn't have that DNA could have.

First, from chapter 17/90 we know that Chakra consist in a mix of both Spiritual and Physical Energy, yes?

Now, let's go further.

Now we know that the Yin power (to create shape from nothingness) consist in Imagination and Spiritual Energy.
Also, we know that the Yang power (to give life to these lifeless shapes) consist in Vitality (Lifeforce) and Physical Energy.

So, a living body (that consist in living DNA) has as components the following things:

Living being = Yin power + Yang power = Imagination + Lifeforce + Spiritual Energy + Physical Energy

And as we know that Spiritual Energy + Physical Energy is "Stamina" (unmolded chakra) we can say that

Living being = Imagination + Lifeforce + Stamina

The Sage had originally an special body and special eyes. These body and eyes were divided in Yin and Yang respectively, so the sons were born inheriting the Sage's divided properties.

- The Elder got the Sage's Eyes, Powerful Chakra and Spiritual Energy (So, he basically got the Yin of the Sage)
- The Younger got the Sage's Body, Lifeforce and Physical Energy /So, he basically got the Yang of the Sage)

NOTE: Both Elder and Younger Son are live beings, meaning that they are not exclusively made of Yin or Yang power. Both have Yin and Yang, but their Yin and Yang are unbalanced. While the Younger son holds way more yang than yin, the Elder son holds way more yin than yang.

Hagoromo Ootsutsuki, the Sage of Six Paths, was the first human to be born with Chakra in his chakra networks system. Before this, humans merely had Stamina (look at the first part of this answer so you can see the difference). When Hagoromo revealed the secrets of Ninjutsu, he learned the process of transforming his Stamina in Chakra, with the "chakra molding" (this is speculation, but in the current context this is how chakra is created... from stamina. Occam Razor, so let's assume this is the case).

As you can see, it's evident that Hagoromo inherited the Juubi's chakra (or at least part of it) from the God Tree's fruit that his mother ate.

NOTE: At this point of this answer, you should already know that Uchiha and Senju Clans are VERY different from other clans. These two clans, no matter how we look at shinobi in general, owns the Juubi's chakra, even if this property have been thinned generationally. The Senju Clan wields the Yang part (physical energy) and the Uchiha Clan wields the Yin part (spiritual energy), which is hinted in chapter 462.

But at the same time, in the previous point (Chapter 462) we know that these clans wield the Sage's DNA (The Senju wields the Sage's Yang: Lifeforce and Body, while the Uchiha wields the Sage's Yin: The Powerful Chakra and the Eyes).

But what about the Physical and Spiritual Energy of the Sage? There is no point looking at these factors as Sage's Stamina/Chakra, because the Sage's Physical and Spiritual Energy were already considered... it is the Juubi's Chakra, which was in his cells and mind from birth.

Now, let's collect every bit of information to reach a conclusion.

- Hagoromo awakened the Rinnegan, which Yin part was inherited by the Elder Son as powerful eyes, and the Yang part was inherited by the Younger Son as common eyes.

- Hagoromo had the Juubi's Physical and Spiritual Energy in his DNA from birth

Conclusion:

- Rinnegan consist in Uchiha DNA and Senju DNA, great amounts of Uchiha's Chakra and a few amount of Senju's Chakra.
- Rinnegan consist mainly in Yin power, reason of why Madara could use this eye with more prowess than Nagato.

...and for your comment about Sasuke:

- Sasuke still needs Senju DNA to have chances of awakening the Rinnegan. Sasuke has more chances of awakening the Elder Son's Doujutsu, which consist only in the Yin part of the Rinnegan, this is: Uchiha DNA + Lot of Uchiha's Chakra + Few Senju's Chakra.

NOTE: Why Lots of Uchiha's Chakra and Few Senju's Chakra? We have to remember what I said referring to Balance of Yin and Yang. There is no Yin without Yang, both Sons had a Shape and Life. So the Yin part of Juubi's chakra consist naturally in a lot of Yin and just a bit of Yang. Do the maths if you have doubts.

Still possible because the Juubi Jin controls Juubi because of Mokuton abilities plus now Madara got Hashirama's chakra.

I took my time reading that theory. I find it possible, but kind of contradictory when it was said that the only clan that came down from the Younger son was the Senju, so by simple logic the Senju Clan had to inherit all the properties of the Sage's Body.

My link to chapter 510 and 462 tells that clearly.

Even through the Uzumaki Clan is distant relative to the Senju, the Senju Clan is way nearer to the Younger Son Bloodline than other Clans, so by logic the Senju should have more abilities of the Sage's body than other clans, and other clans should not have abilities of the Sage's body that the Senju doesn't have.

The only way for this case being possible is that the Younger Son had more descendants than just the Senju (that doesn't belong to the Senju Bloodline).

Sadly, the proof of this not being the case is that Nagato belongs to the Senju Bloodline, so as much the Uzumaki have part of the Senju abilities...

Also, I'm thinking in the case of the Uzumaki coming after the Senju... because if the Uzumaki became before the Senju, then the Uzumaki couldn't be descendants of the Sage, since he only had two sons.

...so, flattly said... Kishimoto needs to provide us of more information before reaching a conclusive statement.
