DmC .....

alright guys :| this is a serious subject ..... sigh

i don't know if this has been done before here or not (a bit too late i guess) but i keep thinking about this .... after seeing the NEW Dante and Vergil (specially Veril .... the agony) and playing this (couldn't finish that thing ..... just couldn't) i seriously don't understand how is this a DMC game (nothing bad ass about an angry teenager who uses the F word too much and his wimpy brother who was a major league bad ass). i just wana know what other FANS think.

I wana hear from the real old fans of this series, and one major question (actually its the point of this thread) IS THERE HOPE ?? did any one hear anything about capcom returning to the real devil may cry ??

All opinions are welcome here, just play nice .....

I want to play it. I played the demo and I thought it was freaking awesome.

Be open to the change, think of it as something different from the previous DMC games. Don't let the past games decide what you think about this one.

am not gona lie .... coz it might be a bit good (if it had another name and other names for its characters) BUT when you are a fan of a series, you wana see your bad ass characters. i personally hate the over sexed (even if am a pervert), non bad ass game and the repulsive new lead character (never mess with the lead character coz dante was THE GAME) take away the bad ass dante and you have nothing ..... also what did they do to vergil OMG this is an outrage.
do you understand what am saying ..... its like giving kratos a tie and a suit, make him a collected person and expecting the fans to be okay with that :sy:
the only people who would accept this are people who are new to the series and didn't really play the originals (if you liked the originals and played them when they came out ..... its hard to believe your ok with this)

I actually made a thread not too long ago asking other people's opinion on the game.

I've played the old ones, and I still liked this one. Why, you ask? Because it was a Reboot game. To enjoy it, you need to forget all your previous experiences with the older games, and be open for change. This is of course easier for new players to the series, because they don't know how much actually changed.

I actually liked this new Dante. If you just don't like his personality, that's fine. It's your rightful opinion. But hating him just because he changed is kind of unfair.

It just depends on whether you're an open fan or just close minded, there's nothing wrong with that. It's like any other game, you either like it, or you don't. Saying it's a bad game is far from the truth. And yes, I hope the original story will return.

On a side note, I just love what Ninja Theory did with the graphics and animation. It's Capcom that made the mistakes that got people to hate this game. And as I previously said, I can understand why you wouldn't like this game, but I just accept it as it is.

Now, sorry that I bored you with this long text :ghehe: I just wanted to be thorough.

I'm an old school fan, having the first three on the ps2 and naturally I had to get the new DmC. I must say it wasn't at all what I expected. I was thrown off from how they were originally half human and demon now half angel and demon (the origin was pointed out several times in previews, not really a spoiler :| ).... WTH That part really made me upset. However I played the game and it was good. There were some things different from the old but it really wasn't that bad and the graphics were great!

You have to keep in mind that this time period is before the original games. Before Vergil was crazed with power and awesome in the other games. However the new dlc for the game is suppose to show that transition. Of all the things I think what gets on my nerves most about this game is how long we have to wait for the new dlc! I got the code for it when I purchased the game and have to wait until whenever they feel like putting the game out? -_-

It's a great game never the less and there are some things that were the same and different. Not going to point them out since not everyone has played the game. It's just getting over those "differences" that make or break the game for the old school players.

no idea if capcom plots to make next DmC but I can say that this one actually didn't suck that much.. maybe much was changed witch characters and storyline and everyone whines about new dante and vergyl but I really don't care... I wasn't surprised about dante using so many F words or practically nothing being similar to the old DMC series.. sooner or later they were going to add major changes to the game so... but besides all this the gameplay rock so much! fighting system is really improved and combos are much more available.. haven't played a slash 'n hack game like this for years

I do know that it's a jump start for a new attempt to get more people to play under the dmc titles. However in the original dmc chain, he already knew about his powers and the two different worlds and such. The new one seemed to introduce it to him and the players (since it's a jump start). As I said though, the new dlc for the game that comes out some time this month is the start of Vergil's madness. So yeah you can't compare the two since they are obviously time line wise not the same. The whole limbo stage was rather annoying though. -_- Hopefully if they come out with a new game (not dlc) they will venture out into the demonic world or something else as we have seen in the other games. I couldn't find anything about dantes ages on the new/older games. Never found it relevant but could you support your words with a link to provide the evidence? In the older dmcs Dante didn't look like he was in his teenage years. The new one he resembles that teenage rebellion stage sort of. :|

Real fan here...I agree. No Hope left for Dante or Vergil. I honestly consider that game to be worse than superman 64. If they make another DMC or continue it most likely they will team up with someone else for help. You and I both know capcom has a history of tying to collab with other companies because they can't do anything them selves anymore. Games have evolved from old school or arcade. SFXTekken was another bad game too. They had to team up with namco just to boost their sales and get peoples attention. Also to mention Marvel, Tatsunoko productions, SNK. DMC originality will be gone forever if they keep teaming up with these companies. Capcom needs to do it them selves and put in work!!!
