DmC was a great game. As a person who loved the classic serious I thought this back then and I think it now. The gameplay was solid, the music kept you into it, and the combos were insane. It was never meant to be a part of the main series or even related to it in anyway. That's why it's called a reboot.
Anyone who bashes Ninja theory for changing Dante's hair(and that's all they really changed) needs to know that Capcom was the reason for the hair change. Ninja theory's initial design was very close to the base Dante(the only change was his attire really). Capcom wanted a more "modern" look to Dante.
Dante's personality in DMC wasn't at all different from himself in DMC3. He just said **** more. There's even a strip club area in mission 3.
That said, I'm glad we'll more than likely get a classic sequel within the 2016-2017 years. But, DmC is still a great game, especially if you look at it as it's own title.
Except for Vergil... God, Vergil was ass. Even if the game was it's own title, I would still hate Vergil.
