DISPAIR BY TOBY
‘Twas a call on the phone
That left him alone
Locked up tight inside his home
Filled with dispair
Afar from a prayer
He began gasping for air
Hanging entwined
Bones began to grind
As he slowly lost his mind
Dark filled the room
He embraced his doom
Mind began to fill with gloom
Fading to black
He can’t go back
When all of a sudden a loud crack
Door open wide
Teary eyed
The man finally set aside
Auburn hair
With skin so fair
Lifted him down off the chair
An embrace so warm
She calmed the storm
It almost seemed to become the norm
It would never repeat
When he left his feet
On the day he kicked over the seat
But it came to an end
From a text she would send
The statement said had no amend
Upon the wall
He felt so small
And effortlessly began to fall
He started to cry
As he saw the sky
Thought to himself what a sad goodbye
‘Twas a call on the phone
That left him alone
Locked up tight inside his home
Filled with dispair
Afar from a prayer
