Facebook has another concept that's based on showing off things you like etc. NB is a forum to discuss with other members about manga/animes etc. I don't see why NB needs to have as a role model FB, since they have nothing in common apart from some features that all social media share.
When you dislike someone's opinion it means that and nothing more. He/she said something and you don't like it, your reasons as to why you don't like it are irrelevant unless you state them on another comment. When someone asks your opinion about something and you honestly answer that you don't like, it doesn't mean that you disrespect them, it means that you have your own personal view about it.
If someone wants to dislike your post because he/she is butthurt and then you feel butthurt with his butthurtness then I really don't see what this site can do for your issues.
As for the -rep, it's incorrect since people can just write a letter or something, not to mention that most comments on -rep are something among the lines of "eat shit, you stupid f*ck", "go die shithead" etc. Very constructive comments to why they disagree with your opinion.
Time is precious and not to be wasted on vs threads.
So that means that you can't disagree and dislike their opinions? But you can only like them?
It's like going to a whorehouse and choose the ugly, fat chick just so she won't feel bad for herself. Stupid, pointless and a waste of time.
It's not against the rules, I am just pointing out that NB can't help you resolve your self esteem issues.
In the end, you don't have to use that feature if you believe that it's disrespectful or anything, but you also can't force your opinion to the majority. It was added after a request, most people agreed with the request, admins took measurements so it won't be abused, most members in this thread disagree with you and are happy to use it. I really don't see why something must change.
