Why was "Thanks for this post" button replaced by "Like"/"Dislike" buttons?

Bring back "Thanks" button, it was way more useful than this "Like"/"Dislike" buttons.

I really hate when I got being disliked because someone disagree with my personal opinions. I was dislike by member A because I tried to explain to him that he misunderstand something and that he is wrong in that point.

Instead of "Fair enough", or "Good point, I misunderstand, still that don't change my point here much", I got dislike.

Another example, versus thread: Character A vs Character B

Member B said:
Character B wins with mid to high diff.

At least, if there is no way to bring "Thanks" button back, let just remove "dislike" button. I don't have problem with someone liking someone's post/opinion, but I really hate when someone "dislike" mine or someone's other personal opinion(s).

Thanks in advance for even reading this post.

I hope this post will not get much dislikes.

''Thanks'' were most replaced in most of the sections of NB. ''Thanks'' button still works on Design Hall. I think they took it off because you could get easily a lot of rep by making a theory or making a fun thread.

Yeah but that's not bad though, they only can dislike 10 posts each day. And if they abuse it they will get into the detention usergroup.

If you think about:

Member C, Member D liked this post.
Member E, Member F, Member G disliked this post.
Than we are both wrong, because it's just "dislike", I see that because someone already disliked my post. :(

I don't see a problem in giving rep to a good theory. Tho, I see a problem with 'fun threads'. Than I'm stick to my suggestion about removing "dislike" option and leaving "like" button, since I don't have issue with it.

It's enough to ten times dislikes someone's personal opinion. I'm sure (at least for my point of view) that it's not right.

Disliking someone's opinion is not much different than not respecting someone's opinion.

No. The dislike is way better.......... it saves you the time to be arguing with the haters or the opinions you don't agree with, I rather click than type something that wont get me anywhere.

Why don't just ignore him? What will "dislike" solve?

You can see 5 members (for now) giving dislike to my OP. So, did that solved the problem.

Now I know that someone don't respect my suggestion/post and I know who that people are, but they didn't post any counter argument.

That's what you are talking about. Maybe they think I'm not worth their time, but why they then dislike it?

Why would you give someone dislike if you don't agree with him.

Someone doesn't like your post?Boy,am I glad I'm not you.
???

03:42 AM - uzamakininjalegend clicked Dislike for this post: Re: Rikudou Naruto Vs Healthy Nagato by Noctis.

That's not really that they dislike my post. Before this thread I had only around 3/4 dislike, but I really hate when I see the example I said in OP.

Imma just hit that dislike button real quick
Hmmmmmm. prime example of what I'm talking.

It's your choice, and show your disrespect. I don't know who are you, I don't know is you good or bad, the only thing I know is that you are member of this site just like me, so I will respect your opinion whatever it is (even if it's off topic).

Thank button was abused in worst ways with people going back to ancient threads and thanking them in a row, even using alts etc. This button without any rep to gives or take serves the purpose better. So I am not surprised it was removed.

As for dislike button that too was added on demand by some members and a cap was put on dislike to deal with trolls.

And no Rep points are not going to be associated with like button. They kind of only add more problems and craze for such a button.

In case you haven't noticed, there are a lot of members who do shit just to annoy you.

So just ignore and move on.
Yeah, I should give up, some people just can not be helped.

Still, not to worry, boomerang always find it's owner.

I get it.

You think this thread is troll. It got disliked 8 times. Or this posts , , .

My suggestions was not to associate rep points with like button, but to bring back "Thanks", I see the problem with Thanks, so it's okay for it to not be brought back.

But still, I would just leave "Like" button.

If you add a feature where you can like something, it's only fair to give the option to dislike something. People agree and disagree all the time, I don't see why this raises any issues.
If you can't take it that some random people over the internet that you probably never meet and have no impact in your rl dislike your opinions and post, I suggest you go see a psychologist rather than creating complaining threads in a forum.

As long as I remember, FB don't have dislike button. I didn't say that it's not fair. But that button should be used when it comes to insults, troll post, bashing and other things.

But when you dislike someone's personal opinion, what does that mean? Disrespect to someone, he leave dislike and go and you don't know why he did that. When it comes to "- rep" he at least need to leave a comment.

Isn't just better to agree to disagree on something than leaving dislikes to each other?

That's exactly the point. You don't know others people. You never meet them. You don't know who they are.

Making this kinds of threads are not against the rules. This section is meant for these kinds of threads. If you don't like it, than you are not bound to read it. Let's think a little harder rather than making that kind of suggestion.
