[DISCUSSION] What did Shikamaru notice?

Newest chapter 635 p.17 on mangapanda, p. 19 on ***********. (Could someone tell me how to post the page?) Right after Sakura's weird fake smile, Shikamaru seems to be looking towards Sakura and Sai and has a reaction.

Did he hear what was going on between Sakura and Sai from that far away or is he noticing something else?

I think he heard their conversation and that big brain of his has figured something out. My guess is that Sakura is going to try and take matters in her own hands regarding this difference in values and approach between Naruto and Sasuke. Which side do you think she will agree with? Because she is not sharing with the people that are openly questioning Sasuke, I think she will side with him.

Too early to say. We can assume he somehow knows of the Lages, but if that were the case he would've happily announced it.

There is to much attention on Sai in the last 2 chapters. Maybe Sai wants to finish his mission and become Danzo's will and kill Sasuke

Check his eyes. Maybe Shikamaru noticed something.

What Sakura truly wanted to say is that...

- She is not happy with this new Sasuke
- She doesn't trust him anymore
- She is more like a ***** than Sai when it comes to fake things

I think Sakura knows that Sasuke and Naruto WILL have differentiating sides in this matter and she knows she may have to try to kill Naruto who she always loves very much just because of her love for Sasuke. and it's killing her inside that's why she plasters herself with a fake smile.

This is exactly what was going on in my mind... remember right before Sasuke tried to kill sakura? She told him that she came to join his group instead (joining the dark side). It was an obvious lie, but my mind immediately traced back to that time while reading sakura's panels in this chapter, even last chapter had me thinking about her a lot. Honestly, I kept thinking to myself why was she crying? Sai said that her words were true... but the smile is not.. I don't know... it can be easily interpreted as sakura being blind and knows deep in her heart that sasuke is not what she thinks he is, but I have this itching feeling that some sort of major plot twist is going to happen, and it will involve sakura... and the only thing I can think of is sakura teaming with sasuke. But in truth, it does seem far fetched. Wouldn't that be something though...

I know this isn't an accurate statement. The people and the slug is Sakura and Sai on top of the slug and other people in that area, not the kages.

I did notice the telepathy stance, that's what made it so much more intriguing. I don't think he was communicating with the kages, there isn't a slug on him and none of them have that ability. Plus it cut straight to them and they were in the same position.

This is Shikamaru, he doesn't do pointless things.

I think she is very disturbed by this new Sasuke. The last time they met, he was emotionally torn and upset, so she could hope that somehow when he got over it, he would see the light. Now he is cold and determined, but whether he knows it or not, is beginning the same path that Madara took - this world is rotten, I will destroy it and build my own ideal one. Sounds familiar?
Even Naruto is seeing this change, and he also looked shocked and frightened.

I think he senses his father. I know there supposed to be dead but they did have a conversation right before HQ was blown up. Maybe the 4th hokages personal squad came and used the FTG and got them out of there
