Not really. Weekly manga manage to get out much more pages in a month than monthly manga do. You get at least 4 chapters in a month when it comes to weekly manga. Each chapter is around 20 pages long so at the end of the month, you have like 80 pages done. On the other hand, monthly manga have like 40 pages per chapter so weekly manga get twice as much pages done in a month than monthy manga do. And even then, weekly manga have three or two more days worth of drawing each month even after getting the four chapters out since a month has like 30 or 31 days. Weekly manga can get much more content out in a certain period of time than a monthly manga can. They just didn't have enough time for someone like Sheele or Bulat so they had to move onto the more important characters of the series.
Definitely this.

You also have to factor in money. Naruto and Bleach could realistically just keep going forever until the series run out of creativity and the fanbase tanks, while something like AgK isn't as popular and therefore probably won't be as long of a manga. Making the author move the story along at a faster clip.

You also have to wait longer for Monthly manga, which means the fanbase would probably lose interest if it moved at the pace of a weekly manga.

so you're mad because the all important character development bullshit never happened for a person who just wasn't a neccesity to the story anymore? go read something like naruto or fairy tail where all the characters stay alive because nakama power.

That's why I really can't appreciate AgK that much. Characters die before they can get much development at all, among other things. It's a 6/10 in my book.

Are you f*ckin with me??? Just go back and read my issues with this series before you spew BS like seriously just stop it, bro I hate nakama powerup and Plotshield, and that's why akame is good in a sense that I can appreciate dark theme and their story-writing but their characters death was so underwhelming which literally wasted so much great potential for these character that just got introduced to the storyline, like Bulat was said to match Esdeath, but we've never get to see such opportunity, which is why I suggested if they have to manage good death, they should dedicated an arc thus have better impact which will shed our tears.

I guess I wasn't the only one disappointed with AGK, but I left it after the first episode. I haven't read the manga, but noticed all the hype for the anime being released and it just did not live up to it.
Can anyone tell me if it does get genuinely good further on? Because I felt like the first episode just rushed everything and expected the viewer to know all about the world and to care for the characters. But the main guy seems like a total ****, and the episode zooms by before you're able to absorb anything.

When I first read the manga I didn't feel for Sheele or Bulat at all, and their deaths seemed average to me.
It wasn't really until the Jaegers appeared that I started to like the manga, I really do recommend you continue to watch the anime.
The reason this series is good isn't because of current events in the anime.

And it's not really that big of a spoiler I think, but it's gonna be a long time until the next night raider dies.

Why does Tokyo Ghoul get mentioned in practically EVERY AgK thread made?

OT: No the deaths were not pointless. Bulat's death showed Tatsumi just how brutal a life as an assassin truly is, and having that happy go lucky attitude isn't going to cut it in this line of work. His death was also a set up for Tatsumi to power up with a Teigu. Basically the purpose of his character was to help Tatsumi to grow as a character. As for Sheele, she was a minor character who was friendly with Tatsumi and a sister/mother like figure. Her death sets up a major plot point later down the track.(but since you are anime only I won't spoil you.......)

Don't click anime viewers.

They only get 1 more death in the anime so its cool and that death doesn't come up until the last episode i think.

So a good manga, in your shitty opinion, should milk out every last drop of story-time from a character before giving him more power ups and milking more? And I, as a person who's read all the 52 chapters of the manga that's been released will tell you that Braht is definitely NOT the 2nd strongest, after Esdese. Hell, even Esdeath isn't the goddamn strongest. Much more stronger people appear. And some of them die because their deaths are either important to the story or their lives are not important anymore.

Braht was said to be second to Esdeath in terms of physical power, is it that hard to grasp.

The kid never seen Braht fight so that statement made no sense but he said that after getting punched by Braht and said this while holding his stomach in pain.

No, in his 'shitty opinion' (which I completely agree with) characters should have some sort of depth to make yheir deaths feel mote meaningful. At least try to read next time.

So you're implying they have enough time to give characters enough depth? It's a monthly manga. There isn't enough time to develop characters and give them as much as depth as they can get in a weekly manga. They have to move on with the story, they simply don't have enough time to sit down and write multiple chapters focusing on a single character .
