i blame madara as he just stands there and does nothing. he doesn't even use any jutsu whatsoever, it makes no sense. my only guess is that kishi wanted to wait to show his power when he fights naruto and sasuke.

I voted yes but I do believe that Maddy knows that Gai can't kill him even if he said things to hype Gai up... Maddy did not go on the offensive..
I think he was testing how strong Hashi's auto healing is..
Think about it... Maddy used susanoo with no eyes and all he had to do is use PS x5... Hell the wind of the sword is enough to send Gai beak in his mother catty.
